WHO IS SATAN? 2

The Fall of Satan
The Bible says that Satan was created by God as a cherub, the most powerful of God's angelic beings. Some time after his creation and before the creation of mankind,Satan rebelled against God and took one third of the angels (now referred to as demons) with him into rebellion.
"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him" (Rev. 12:9).
The word 'satan' is the Hebrew transliteration of the word 'adversary.' Therefore, Satan is the one who opposes God. Satan is the most powerful of the fallen angels. Satan, also known as Lucifer and the Devil, was the one who entered the Garden of Eden and convinced Eve to disobey God. Remember when Jesus rebuked peter, "But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men." Lesson: Never do anything that God detest. One of the worst of sins is that which Satan committed, thinking that He was the equal of or better than God. We commit the same sin when we think that we do not need God, or when we think we are better than others, or that our race, or nationality , or religion, automatically makes us a better person than those outside.
